Legal Process Supervisor Job Description and Profile

Under general direction, the job of the Legal Process Supervisor entails coordination and supervision of the work of staff in a legal processing department. He likewise develops, analyzes and applies policies based on departmental and legal requirements. The Legal process supervisor performs other related tasks and duties when required.

Duties and Specifications

  • Organizes, supervises, plans and coordinates the support and other related activities of legal crew which processes documents and forms.
  • Heads the preparation of various types of legal reports, forms, files and other documents.
  • Reviews legal documents for appropriate form as well as completeness according to applicable rules, codes and regulations before submitting them to the concerned governing body.
  • Proposes, analyses, researches and implements related policies as a response to law revisions, legislation and related management directives.
  • Coordinates procedural modifications with other distant court and legal offices.
  • Prepares standard manuals.
  • Reviews, develops and modifies department forms.
  • Maintains and keeps inventories of forms.
  • Oversees the destruction of sensitive and legal cases and materials in compliance with current criteria.
  • Trains and oversees the work of staff members in the use of computer software and hardware.
  • Maintains equipment in branches with central computerized staff members to resolve existing problems and formulate program improvements and recommendations.

Skills and Specifications

  • Able to analyze, interpret and apply complex court rules, laws and regulations as well as State codes.
  • Must be able to plan and supervise day-to-day activities of processing unit.
  • Must be able to adapt, create and apply new procedures.
  • Must learn methods and trends of leadership and supervision and apply them to staff.
  • Be able to professional relate with the law enforcement, legal community as well as general public.
  • Communicated effectively in verbal and written forms.
  • Must know how to use and apply various computer software programs.
  • Must select, heads, train and evaluate work of staff.

Education and Qualifications

  • Four years of relevant experience in the processing and creating legal documents.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience highly desirable.
  • Possession of valid State Driver’s License (Class C) required.
